          Seems shady.

          I took my engine out once with no hoist in my parent's driveway. I pretty much took it down to the block and the crank and just lifted the block/crank out, rested it on the upper radiator support, then climbed out of the engine bay and took the block/crank off the upper support.

                        Tim Chris and I pulled one out for his coupe at the yard, lift the car off of the entire subframe/powertrain assembly lol
                        99' SL2- stick swapped, static, slammed, DD, forever in progress.
