  • Dreams Turbo Turd part 2

Well, I'm building a new motor to replace the fuggered up one in the coupe. Or I am simply buing one finished. It has to be forged goodness with Ian cams. Tuning sollution has not be decided as of yet, and I'm hoping this thread will make up my mind for me among other things. So first question in first post once solved I will move on to a new question and keep it going I guess. I want to compile this info here so we can reuse it later for a newb wanting to boost his turd.

should I upgrade my GT2860RS with this,
    http://www.034motorsport.com/product_in ... cts_id=728
    at 995 bucks?

or should I just get a new turbo, like this,
    http://www.034motorsport.com/product_in ... cts_id=671
with a 60 trim, at 695, then sell off my GT-series to help off set cost?

This one is my actual "dream" turbo for the build,
    http://www.034motorsport.com/product_in ... cts_id=298
We all know that pricing would be stupid expensive on it even used.

The problem is I dont feel the current T25 style I have is going to be able to flow as good as the motor will allow causing even more manifold pressure. Thoughjts?

Ummm tasty GT35 hehehe. If it were me I'd go for the T3/04E honestly. Seems to be a pretty good matched turbo for our engine and what your looking for out of it.

      lol no.
the thing with the GT turbos is... they're more expensive. i would only go with a GT if i were shooting for above 400, because then the points that the gt has over the old school are the things that will make the difference in a larger turbo.
check out atpturbo for their prices as well.

apt turbo is my source, I just used them because it was linked today from someone else. I think this dicusion is over and the T3/04E is my choice.

        next question

should I keep the L mount IC setup with my new 2" core radiator, or should I flip it up into a FMIC?

see how it is working, I will change the question once my answer is taken care of. I allready have a list of questions on a word document, but dont want to ask them all at once so I can get a full answer on the current question. Or should I?

forget that question, I will see about that later. more important question.

Should I get bigger injectors with the setup I will be running?
I will have stock 19# injectors at the stock location on the IM, and I will have 32# injectors 4" back on a seperate fuel rail. Goal is "realistic" 300whp

if you want big power i'd ditch the double fuel rail bullshit. that's twice as much wiring and twice as many parts to fail.

I was hoping to utilize the extra holes in the IM. and was thinking an EIC

Re: Dreams Turbo Turd part 2

yeah but at the 300 range your not going to be able to utilize the pcm at all, so you'd just be fighting against it with an eic. it would have to be fully tunable.

OK, I skored some huge ass injectgors with a forged 97 motor they will be used with the MS, Which ports should I use the stock ones or the farther back ones?

Turbo needs to be upgraded for sure now since I have a second gen head.

Since I'm going witha walbro for fuel, do I really need a return line added? I just want to know the reasoning behind a return line, it seems more efficiant without it.

i'm not sure actually, i think the issue was with the stock wiring on returnless, it varies the power going to the pump to change pressures instead of an FPR. so that may or may not work with the walboro.
