One question, how do i pull the shift cable out of the firewall without nuking it?

I believe it comes into the car. Lay under the car and push it toward the inside I think.

i pushed....pryed from inside....tried prying from outside...gave up for another mission, figured it might be easier once the tranny is out.

Well it is a pain in the ass. Since I doubt you are going to use it again cut the crap out of it.
