Definitely do the 5-speed swap while you're at it, with a motor like this!
Your automatic tranny will eventually fail if you spray at it.
A 5-speed swap is way easier than what you're doing, and you can weld the diff pin while everything is out! You might as well go balls out on this and have an awesome time driving a quick reliable turd!

The thing is money money money... I would do it if I found like the most awesome deals on everything I needed... and I haven't seen any spectacular deals to make me move on that part of the project. The junkyard is still wanting $400 for a 5 speed box and extra for all the misc stuff (cables, shifter, slave cyl, flywheel, etc...) For now it'll stay stuck to the auto box and hopefully by the time the motor is broken in I'll be able to afford the 5 speed.

I even tried to get them to drop the price by offering my auto as a core trade and it was refused. Apparently Saturn transmissions just aren't a popular sale in the jy's around here.

That sucks ass. Around here they are $65 if you pull them yourself, and they just throw in all the hydraulics and crap.
I paid $115 + tax for my swap total. Hands down the best mod ever done. I cried first time I got up to 50 mph.

I think I'd cry if I found a deal like that. $115 for a total swap? Sign my broke ass up.
