• Project Ruin The VUE Warranty(Q&A, and Group Discussion)

I'd like everyones ideas on this so we can all figure out what would exactly work best on this, the turbo will be the same one Jay has.

Need a recommendation on intercooler and oil pump.

Do you know how much hp can the tranny handle? Also you said something about not messing with hooking up the turbo to the exhaust manifold? Are you gonna do one of those setups that has the turbo farther down the exhaust?

Is there any room to put a centrifugal supercharger? zI know space is pretty tight in there.

^^^ that's what I had in mind. I've seen them work pretty well. No intercooler, can use pretty much all of the stock shit, and decent gains

        or

forged internals, twin turbo badass mo-fo.

I think the biggest problem you're going to run into is breaking the transmission.

Jay, Billy mentioned I should run an intercooler regardless if we do the rear mount setup anyway, because charged air = hot air. Your thoughts on this as well?

Hemken, I'm not too worried about the tranny, and if it pops... it'll get fixed. A dude from SF, Burnout has raced his VUE at the track multiple times. That's the dude in the videos you saw of the VUE beating a Mustang... his has been fine. Also, he's mentioned to me before he might of found a 5 speed manual from an Acura that could bolt up, so we shall see about that.

neh...the rear mount really doesn't need an intercooler. There's plenty of charge pipe to cool off the incoming air. Also, placing the turbo out back... the turbine stays cooler and transfers less heat.

i think a nicely polished turbo with some clean laid out piping would be sick. although i have no idea how much room there is to work with in a vue. i personally think the rear mounted turbos are a half ass way of trying to do a turbo build, its almost like an after thought. its not my car so you do what you want, just my .02

The Tranny is the weak link. That's why I mentioned the snapped Axles on the other thread. I know of some kids from St. Pete that kept snappin axles w/ a stock set up, lol! Also, I've seen a good share of Honda trannies go through our service dept. And I can tell you that none of the 80 yr old people around here have Turbos or S/C'rs on their Vue, lol! Do some research on beefin up the tranny too.

I don't want to wait the 6 months it will take to get a custom turbo manifold made to squeeze the fucking thing in there. As I said, down the road, it will go up front... this is just to get some boost going.

This seems to be a hit or miss with each one honestly. We will see what happens, haha!

we've only replaced 2 of them so far. we do 2 or 3 VTI's a week, that's probably what you're thinking about.

I have a really nice air/water intercooler and pump still. It's actually not that large either. You'd just need lines and a condenser.
