  • opinion needed/sohc cammed or dohc stock head

I know this topic is old and worn out, but i just recently obtained a sohc head with a bigger cam. I was going to have it shaved, p&p, 3 angle valve job. I've already have full exhaust 2.5" all the way back with 2.5" magnaflow catalytic converter also. Was going to turbo charge it. Had a custom turbo manifold made. Now I'm deciding to just do a N/A DD. I'm using a geo storm throttlebody (getting ready to p&p), true 2.5" cold air intake (filter is in fenderwell behind front bumper), stage 2 performance clutch and using a safc-2 for tuning. And if any one also have any tuning points for the safc-2? Would be great.

should I sell the sohc cammed head for a dohc stock head?Nothings definite just yet on what I'm going to do.

Absolutely. Don't fuck around with the SOHC at all. It's probably a stock cam, anyways.

Not sure. I doubt its a 'real' cam. Unless its done by some local shop or something, and even then, I doubt its worth much. Put a DOCH head on it, don't waste your time, trust me, Im Captain SOHC
It's not my fault, blame the radiation.

+1. I just swapped to a DOHC and love it.

            +1 to probably a stock cam/DOHC swap.
Ruined my SOHC camshaft once and looked everywhere for something other than stock.
            They pretty much don't exsist.
