that looks pretty. you mean you don't like low compression and burning oil? oh, that familiar smell...
built '02 turbo sc2 - evoVIII setup @ 11psi. coming off of a fresh engine and trans rebuild and going easy. should be ~ 20 psi soon and hopefully > 300whp.

as long as the head is off, you may as well put the flat faced in it. get em ground and seated, you'll be good to go

          Re: Project re-ring it!

decided to work on the valves instead of removing the pistons for today. this way I can get the head to the machine shop quicker

I took out all the valves and sandblasted them. believe it or not these are the same valves. turned out nice I think

            Re: Project re-ring it!

            ok overdue for an update

I took the head into the machine shop to have the valve guides checked, reassemble, and resurface the head

            replaced all the rings

old piston rings and rod bearings

I've been doing a ton of engine bay prep before I reinstall everything. lots of cleaning, replaced a few vacuum lines, cleaned the injectors, and powder coating a ton of stuff

            timing cover

            oil pan

the intake manifold was so dirty inside I couldnt really clean it. way too much oil inside to powder coat right now, it would of started on fire I think so I sent it off to be hot tanked, along with a couple other parts while im at it. (its taking forever cleaning everything myself)

thanks, I'm hoping this will be one of the better stock rebuilds out there

I have another car (turbo z24) I've been working on for 7 years, or else I would be modding the saturn. but I cant afford to do both

Very good work! You may want to check the roundness on the cylinders though seeing as you seemed to be burning quite a bit of oil. Can't wait to see you get it back together and clean the whole bay up.

Any more info on the cavi?

I just assumed he had swapped it.

the cavi is swapped but its not a 3.4 from a Z34, those were DOHC. the 3400 is from a 01 grand am
