    So I've never made a build thread, mostly out of laziness.



    What is currenly on the car (or what I can remember)
    Engine:
    -SPS 8mm plug wires
    -Geo Storm GSI throttle body
    -Injen WAI
    -stock 92 header
    -AEM UEGO wideband

    Looks:
    -15" rs limited concept pro wheels ($100 rims and tires at the junkyard. Yeah they were messed when I first got them)
    -H&R race springs (yeah its a little stiff)
    -Clear Corners with led sidemarkers
    -PeelnSeel'd trunk
    -Ditched teh gold pinstripe for a silver one, might go black idk yet
    -Sony Xploder deck
    -Boston Acoustics rear speakers
    -Some old Pioneers up front
    -14 gauge wire to a scoche amp
    -Black emblems, brand new from saturn, less than 100 in America were left when my friend ordered them

    The differential pin said goodbye on my 99 sl2, and the car had 270,000 miles on it so I decided to call it a day being as the motor was on its last leg and erverything was nice and rusty. After while of searching, thinking back and forth whether to get back into the saturn thing, I made my second stupid mistake, a 92 coupe. Picked this one out because it had all black interior, a sun roof, and came with a 92 header, which I can never seem to find in the yards. I still had a nice little stash of parts from my 99 so getting started was pretty easy. Within half an hour of getting it home I threw my intake and an ebay strut bar on.

    Here's where my old 99 rests...


    My friend and I cruising in St. Cloud. Believe it or not that white hot belongs to a 40+ year old man.


    My goal with this car is to have something really reliable but goes like stink for a DD. Its just going to be a clean little cruiser. Would like to be in the low 14 second quarter mile range at least. When money permits be I'll be starting a high compression build on a junk motor and taking my time with that while I get a bunch of other stuff going well. Debating whether to run megasquirt for fuel or just get an SAFC. Also thinking about running spray. When I do my motor build, I might drill the intake mani for direct port nitrous just to keep things safer on the engine.


    I have an extra transmission that will be getting the differential pin welded up when I'm swapping motors.

    I also have an AEM UEGO that is acting funny, it only says like 15.1 or 14.7 for the afr, and I have a totally stock computer. Have any of you guys experience something similar? I got it used so I have a feeling the sensor might be shot.

    Okay so I recently found out my heat isn't working.

    Its nothing to do with the cooling system, everything there has been replaced in the last month or two.

    Motor is running at a great temp range, the fan is just not kicking on. We had a warm day where a bunch of snow melted and then froze that night, so I'm not wondering if that's contributing to my issue. I have never messed with the fan part. Maybe some of you guys could shine some light on this?

        Haha, that was a pretty spontaneous day in October actually, we live about an hour away on each side of cloudy town so its a pretty easy drive, I'm down for hitting it up over there anytime. Come to think of it, I haven't really met anyone on the site, so it would be nice to get some of the local mn guys cruising or whatever.

          Okay, so pulled over 3 times in the last 4 nights. My right headlight is out, my heater motor doesn't work, I gotta throw some air in my tires because the fronts are leaking or really messed by the temp changes, noticed a gnarly gash in my rear bumper that I have no idea where it came from. Why does everything shit on me at once? Fuck, I thought I was done at radiator, thermostat, clamps, new s belt, alternator, and a tensioner last month.

            Fixed my heat problem, it was my blower motor, threw a new one in and replaced my headlight. Transmission popped. 99% sure its the differential pin.

                haha, took apart my spare mp3 with a friend today, welded the differential pin, got it almost all back together. I pray that it works. I've never gone through a transmission before.

                  Got the new one in, shifts like ass. We're thinking there might be some bubbles in the clutch hydraulics so we're gonna bleed them out during the weekend probably.

                      Haha, no I didn't mean that. He's an awesome guy, but that car looks like a kid's car. Like it belongs to a 17 year old. He's the coolest guy ever and is always helping me with saturn stuff because he's been working on them since 91.

                          yeah they're a bitch, im trying to figure out my tranny situation. Its stuck in fourth gear right now, so we theres something assed up

                              Haven't updated this in a while. That transmission with the welded diff took a poop the next day after that last update, so I bought an mp3 at the yard. Cleaned the 2 inches of dirt and grease off of it and threw it in. It's been running real well. The battery froze up while it was sitting for a couple weeks so I got a new cheapo napa one for it.

                              On the 24th I threw my hub spacers on and my buddy Joe gave me some sawtooths with 65 series tires on them to rock instead of the geartooth fail. We cruised up town to the bank and my car started missing like crazy, the 2&3 coil pack is shot, so I ordered some MSD ones. My driver seat is also busted, it won't stay up straight, so I gotta run to the JY for that soon.

                              I couldn't cruise today so I putzed with some stuff. Cleaned the engine bay and replaced a battery cable. One of the tabs on my driverside clear corner broke so I'm going to epoxy a stock tab on and get that working. While it was out I decided to do my led conversion that I had on my 99, so I soldered the 19 led bulb on there, but I think I'll have case of the fast blinker, anyone know what resistor I need and where to put it?



                              Also one of my halogens has a hole in it, great. Good news is I got a c10 kicker sub from a friend, just need a better amp set up and a few other things and I'll have a great stereo system.

                              I've pretty much decided what I want as far as my goals for the summer are. Basically fix everything wrong with the car and get my stereo sounding good in the next month or so. I really need to get atleast the front struts swapped, I have H&R races so I think I'll go with KYBs because they're a bit stiffer, but I really want to figure out a koni set up. I wanna run megasquirt for fuel and get a new sensor for my uego.

                              I found a guy that will do a bunch of headwork for about $300, port matching and polishing, so I'd really like to get a spare head and some cams and do that, but we'll see what the the budget allows.
