  • To hell with reliability, Frankensaturns' DSM build

Yup, decided that I didnt have enough fail with the SW, so why not just tempt fate...

    Currently
    96 body
    97 GST motor (crankwalk FTMFW)
    Blown head gasket
    Burning oil from somewhere
    Broken axle
    Needs front bushings
Paint is chipped all to hell

Yep, thats about it for now... Currently Im compiling all the parts for a first gen motor, and have just about everything minus the short block.

But for right now, its simply in storage until I get the time to break it apart

I'm assuming it was boosted when you picked it up then? Any fun stuff in it or is it all stock parts?

Honestly, Im not sure what to make of it, its an autotragic so it really could be a nice driver, and may become the car for the dragon this year...

I wouldnt want the AWD, Im happy with the FWD, Id rather have the torque steer than the added failure of the transfer case

you'll snap axles and blow trannies a lot more with the awd dsm's. This car built with fwd will still be fun as hell though.

Re: To hell with reliability, Frankensaturns' DSM build

Understandable, if I was still in Iowa there is no way that I would own this car...

                        head gasket has been replaced
                        bewst leak has been fixed
                        she has new axles
                        new turbo has been installed

now what to do with the rest of the car??? M2 springs are on order, as well as KYB shocks and some sways / mevtech end links and the entire bushing set for the front... so hopefully all that will be in next week and they will be in the car right after that...

I won't call you crazy, as they are easily the most attractive wheels they rolled out of the factory on. But you have to admit, these are hot. (Especially picture number one, which I would hump if seen in person.)
