  • 2005 ION Redline build (SLOW build)

    Here's some background:

Bought her in June of 2008. She has the comp pack wheels but no other comp pack part. Here are a pick or two of right after I bought her:

    Plans are:
    Exterior:
    Hidden antenna mod
    open the front bumper up
either shave wing off trunk or trade for wingless trunk
either paint or use black vinyl to get a gunmetal color on hood, roof and trunk

    Interior:
    boost gauge
    air/fuel ratio gauge
    gauge pod

    Performance:
    cold air intake
    header
    catback exhaust
stage 2 then stage 3 kit

    Suspension:
    springs
then do more research to decide from there

    Wheels:
stick with the stockers for awhile

I have done the hidden antenna mod and opened the front bumper.

Here are the pics of the hidden antenna:

I have a plug in the hole right now but don't have a pic of it

Here are the pics of the opened bumper:

I have painted the coilpack cover a shimmery silver.

        Here are the pics:

Now, I just need to pick the color and paint the valve cover.

Looks like you got the comp package wheels on the non-comp model. I like those better than the polished ones. Good luck! I'm be doing much of the same. Don't think I'd do a full stage 3 though, just get a smaller pulley and keep your stage 2 PCM. Then you'll need 60lb injectors and a HP tune. Stage 3 PCM takes away the AC.

Looks good, I like what you did with the bumper. Although why not put some grill material in there?

I'm just not a fan of grill material unless it is the perfect stuff. Haven't found it yet.

Try some of this kind of mesh, I liked it.

Ok, tomorrow I'm removing the valve cover and the supercharger. I'm going to prep and paint them both black. I am also removing the wing and plugging the holes. I'll post up pics afterwards.

It takes too much crap to get the wing off and I don't have the time right now so the wing is still on. I also couldn't get all the supplies I need to do the valve cover and the supercharger but I could get the supplies to finish my coil cover and paint the fuel rail cover and the amber side markers.

                          Here are some pics:

Here is the coil cover and the fuel rail cover on the car (look past the ugly valve cover and supercharger or imagine them gloss black):

Looks pretty good, especially the fuel rail cover. Although is it a little off-fitament?

I would gone with pure red or silver on the coil cover, but that's just me. The valve cover will look great black.

Unfortunately it has always sat that way. I'm going to go out tomorrow and see why it is that way after work. It was pure silver before. I just did the red line today. Always thought it would look good.
