awhile back i made post about sealing the rear doors up on the L300 v6 , while i am in the process of building the roll cage to make it my third car i drift, besides my 240sx and STI, i will be running a saturn and i know what ur going to say a FWD car wtf? well no not for long i will be stripping the engine area and am looking to install a RB26det motor from a Nissan Skyline or other skyline model engines, i also looked into a SR20 motor.. now people have said the engine area is cramped , well i will not be installing AC or any other non essential things. im not looking for comfort what so ever, thought i am attempting to make it as much of a full blown drift car as my other cars but also make it road legal... hell of a challenge if you ask me.. people might debate about my engine choices or whatever else and thats fine.. I think it will be a hell of a fun project

Re: L300 going JDM?
wow that sounds like a cool idea if you can pull it off please post some pics.
id also love to see your other drift cars.Originally posted by ECOtec GodsConsider this: 800 hp is a lot on a 2.0L motor. With 750hp, three-quarters of a thousand you're basically dealing with 6.14 hp per cubic inch. Pressures and stresses of all kinds thermal and mechanical loading across the board escalate to extreme levels. A Chevrolet 5.7-liter LS1 V8 with this much specific power (horsepower per cubic inch) would be making 2,137 hp

Re: L300 going JDM?
Ummmmm why a Nissan motor? I mean hell ray millen has made one of the best drift cars out there with his gxp why not rumage for a gxp/ sky drive train do some fab work and stick a 2.0 turbo charged ecotec engine in it. I am not a big fan of foregin car parts in American based car but i do know that the gxp and gto that ray millen put together has been quite a success in d1 drift. I love saturns and gm but its you car do with it what you want. I would love to see something like this actually happen good luck and take alot of pics of the work.97 sc2 Bored .10 over hypereutectic pistons, Perfect circle chrome moly rings, Magnecor R-100 race wires, Accel coil packs, Gsi tb, SPS hotshot WAI, AEM dryflow filter, Rear disc conversion, sprint 2.0 lowering springs, ebc dimpled and slotted rotor, amr fstb , OBX header, 2.25 exhaust with removed cat and a thrush glasspack, MP3 with a welded diff, Spec stage 3 clutch, lw flywheel

Re: L300 going JDM?
yeah , i have always tried , to find harder and harder challenges to push my limits and expense. and about the skyline engine as one of the engines i thought of well , its a great engine , even more so with twin turbo apps i have seen, not to say that i didnt look into crate motors cause i did see some that i liked, but that engine always appealed to me, its my dream car to have a r34 skyline so yeah. also i like the AWD the skyline has and makes it easier to convert to a RWD app. and seeing how the L300 has barely any aftermarket parts so needless to say , i knew it would come time to realize i need to make changes like that.. i know it will cost more , but its all in the name of fun

Re: L300 going JDM?
Sounds cool. I would love to see an RB powered RWD Saturn L car, what a sleeper that would be and would certainly be nuts on a drift course. I can imagine the comments and shit you would be getting lol. Figure if you already have a STI and 240 setup than you probably have some knowledge, I am sure that Saturn would present a real challenge but if you want it and have the funds/skills, it would be awesome to see.
Just ignore some of the comments you will get, we have no shortage of assholes on the board.
Welcome to the sphere.
