  • ProDarwin's 94SW2 now the DD

    Picked this up 09/19/2009

Carfax shows it as totally clean.

Original owner saved all receipts for service. Second owner saved most. I logged them all, and holy service history batman:

I even came across all of the original purchase documents, including the window sticker:

Now that I have all of the history logged, I made a short list of what I should replace this week:

    Plugs
    Wires
    Thermostat
    A/C Charge + Lower A/C Hose
    Oil
    Filter
    PCV
    Air Filter

                      Re: ProDarwin's Not-As-Shitty DD

Long time no update. Basically the car has only been driven once a month or so. Now that the red wagon got hit, I plan on getting rid of it. I'm doing a complete rebuild on the suspension before the gold car becomes the DD.

-Last night I took the front knuckles off and dropped them off at a shop to have new bearings pushed in.
-I also hit the lateral links (donor set) with a wire wheel and scrubbed any surface rust off and hit them with a coat of anti-rust semi-gloss black. Tonight I pushed some poly bushings in.

Also I straightened out a donor set of front swaybar brackets with a hammer, touched them up with a grinder, then hit them with a wire wheel. They have since had a couple coats of paint and are currently drying along with a set of rear hub spacers.

They aren't that rare, but yes

nice looking links. Wish it was easier to get my northeast salty rear knuckles apart from my links...

Hopefully this car doesn't bend you over like the last one (knock on wood)

Refinished front swaybar brackets, painted rear hub spacers:

Refinished rear trailing links. I'll install the center parts on Mon. or Wed. when I have access to a press again.

I popped off the cam cover because it was leaking. Also some of the paint on it is peeling, so I guess I need to refinish it as well. Top end of the motor passes the visual test... no excessive wear that I can see (whats the procedure for inspecting the chain?)
