  • Scotty's daily/mud toy/hauler

I'm bored and figured I need a new "build" page since the White Hot is being de-modded. Here is the page devoted to my truck. We have other makes on here already, so here it goes.

2000 Dodge Dakota Quad Cab 4x4 with the 4.7L v8 and 4 speed auto. Picked her up Novemeber 2006 with 85k on the clock. Already had a 3" Performance Accessories body lift and 33x12.5x15 Pro Comp All Terrains(I'm not impressed with these tires at all. Only thing they were good on has been mud.) and a Hooker Aerochamber muffler with dual 3" tips along with some unknown tonneau cover and body color Vent Visors. This truck has served me great, just rolled over 100k and it still rolling strong. I don't have pics of some of the things I've done, but I'll post up what I have.

The day I brought the truck home.

Of course I didn't have it more than a week and went to play in a mud hole.

Added some clear corners with led bulbs.

Just a couple pics playing in the snow.

    Debadged.

Yes, the 97-00 came with the 15x8 alloys. I don't care, tires are cheaper haha.

            Hauling a friend's broken car.

Threw away the shitty no name remote starter that was in there for a Computstar remote starter/alarm.

The Fastman 68mm throttle body on the right against the stocker.

Billet grill. Couldn't fit the lower section due to the tranny cooler.

                      Re: Scotty's daily/mud toy/hauler

What about em. I happened to stumble on them ebay, and although they weren't the color I wanted, I placed a bid. They were brand new, ordered in 2001 and never installed. I got them in the original box and wrappers with all the instructions. The seller emailed me shortly after I won saying he was upset it sold that low but was glad it was going to someone who could use them. He even provided me with the original $867 reciept for them, saying he never got around to putting them in and they sat in his basement so he decided to throw them on ebay. I sent him some pics of the above pics and he was happy to see them installed and said I did a great job. Would I do it again? Probably not, it was a major pain in the ass and doesn't quite match the interior(would love black) but it does give it a luxurious feel and still smells like leather 10 months later. I have been told it has upped my resale value, but probably not enough to matter with all the rust this thing has popping up. I do enjoy them though, but wish I would have redone or got a different driver seat. Mine was worn when I got it and the side bolster kinda leans to the door. I might swap the cover onto a better condition seat in the near future.

Ya know now that I think of it, I don't think you can run the 15s on the front of you truck anyways. The 15s I have will not clear the larger 03 brakes you have. I dunno, I guess its a trade off, I hate my brakes. I keep killing the rear drums for whatever reason and am thinking of going to a 96-97 Grand Cherokee rear disk setup. They are a little smaller than the newer Dakota factory rear disks, but they are as direct a bolt up as I will get for my axle tube, fit under my 15s for sure and are usually pretty cheap and easy to find. All I have to do is redrill the rotors for 6 lug. I could always swap the entire rear end, but that's alot more work, but has also been considered to use one with LSD to gain that as well.

yea i hate the 03 rear disk and drum e-brake set up. i can't get the drum to quit making noise. so i just adjusted it all the way out so no e-brake.
