Bought a new car because I hurt my other knee and I can't drive manual transmission for a while.

Gave me an excuse to pick up a unicorn.

2002 Saturn SL1 -RHD - automatic - 220k at time of purchase. Very well maintained it seems because they got tax write offs as a small business rural mail carrier.

Only plans for it are snow tires and eventually a DOHC ( still auto because of the knee ) swap. The SOHC is brutally slow compared to what I'm used to driving, but for now it's getting me from A2B

Who knows maybe someday. I have a history of knee issues so I need a dead reliable automatic in reserve. I don't feel like doing another project right now and the DOHC swap makes sense to do because it has high miles and will have to be replaced at some point anyways. I'll rebuild the automatic transmission since MP6/7 and do a cooler etc at the same time so that I won't have to open it up again.

UPDATE: car has been running great. I can drive my other cars again so time to prep for swap. I picked up a DOHC shortblock recently, but actually ended up buying a complete DOHC engine for it today that should be shipping soon.

Engine arrived the other day. Picked up the MP7 transmission also ( actually the one out of my old SC2 that I manual swapped https://sixthsphere.com/showthread.p...Sick-s-New-SC2 )

Clutch on my truck started to act up a lot on the trip to pick up the transmission though so have to deal with that prior to the swap in this car.

Mitch is actually going to be doing the clutch in the truck for me haha. He's done a good job on the other jobs on there like timing belt so it's nice to have someone to pay to do this stuff instead.

Added/acquired the following
VUE gauges
Cheap bluetooth receiver and oil pressure gauge in the double din housing
2000 Non-AIR DOHC/Auto PCM
91/92 header/downpipe

Just need to junkyard a rear swaybar because the car didn't come with one and it should have just about everything a stock SL2 would at this point.

Still haven't gotten around to this swap. Probably after we get back from ToTD. Squirrel or something got in and ate the spark plug wires & the transmission harness so I'm currently debating a manual swap
