Got the old engine and transmission out of the car last weekend.....thrown diff pin. Got to find another transmission... off to the junkyard.

Started putting the new motor together, all looks good.

Top ring gaps .014
mid ring gaps .016
oil ring gaps .018

I am going to do a rear disc conversion and a complete rebuild of ther front end.

Wow CR of 13.0:1, will the stock starter be able to turn that over?

and a SAFC II only to run the beast? Seems like a full standalone may be able to get you a little farther with such an in-depth build

either way it looks damn good and real clean

damn man, that thing is gunna freakin' move for an NA saturn. Something like that could really benefit from a custom IM as well.

Update
It runs. I have some fueling issues I am trying to straighten out. Will only run with external power to fuel pump. Vids tommorow.

Got the fuel pump straightened out, broken ground wire in the trunk. Actually broken inside the insulation about 2 inches back from the ground buss bar.
Runs pretty good idle is a little rough and nearly dies when the throttle is released. Another issue is it seems the idle is hanging up between shifts. Possible IAC problem??

That's a stock geo IAC for you. Mine is doing the same damn thing so I might try and just get a brand new one or use the saturn one I have and extend the wiring harness since it has to face in the wrong direction.
