  • 2011 Mustang 5.0 Build

Well i picked up my 2011 5.0 a few months ago and figured i would make a thread for progress even though the satty is the focus at the moment lol. For now i just have the fr500 black chrome wheels, 20 percent tint, and custom Pypes Violater mufflers with 3 1/2 tips coated black. I have Ford Racing springs in the garage that will give it a 2 inch drop. I just have to wait till i can afford a panhard bar to keep the rear centered.

Pics are in order of date

And the car i traded for it

Cool to see, as a guy who has owned many Mustangs myself, I'll keep an eye on your thread.

In terms of styling, for me, it goes '67-'68 Fastback ('68 GT500 specifically), the "Terminator" Cobra, and then what you've got!

              Wow ...

              I liked that Yellow 'Stang.

Your '11 is nice too - am surprised doing the mods so far hasn't voided the warranty, unless it was done at a dealership.

I LOVED that yellow mustang....i had put so much into it...intake, throttlebody, sct chip, underdrives, caster camber plates, H and R 2 Inch Drop, subframe connectors, cat back exhaust, short throw shifter, 4.10 gears, wheels, tint, and the custom paint work. She dyno'd at 290 rwhp for just bolt ons. But when i realized i was starting to get upside down with the value and my parents were selling my only source of credit (a focus i had my mother cosign on), i knew i needed to keep building credit. So i got out from the 2 cars and took the opportunity at buying a 2011 5.0 for only 28k without anything down....O and my insurance went down 6 bucks a month lol.

Always liked them in yellow. Getting financing on a GT500 would have to be a bitch and those payments, ouch lol.

I have owned four over the years, had an '88 5.0 GT, '91 5.0 LX Notchback (still my fave, miss that car to this day -- swapped to a 347 stroker, supercharged, all the usual bolt-on's, etc...), '94 5.0 GT and my last one was a '96 4.6 GT. Been thinking of trying to find another, would like to grab an '03-'04 Terminator or go back to a '90(ish) notch.

My buddy Dave has a nice, bright yellow 2005 or 06 GT with a Whipple, I drove up to SC to help him install the supercharger, it was a fun weekend. Probably still have pics somewhere, i'll have to dig a few up, his is a sharp looking car. I have been trying to get him to lower it but he won't haha.

well my payment is 450 now...a tad high but for 20 years old i think the car is worth it. The reason for wanting a Shelby is due to this being next to my car lmao

I know what u mean about garage envy.. my dad has a 06 Z06 which basically put down 500 at the wheels with bolt ons. Pure sex and drives on the road like a private jet.
