• Ricer Ryan's 94 SL build

I originally started this thread to show what I did. But I figured my pics are here, so this is my build thread now. Lol. I bought the car in November of 08. It is a 94 SL base model, SOHC, manual steering, locks, windows. The works. lol. This is my first Saturn, and I love it. Easy to work on, fun to drive. First thing I did was the ECTS, thermostat, tune up, brakes, cut the shifter, installed my system, and a few other things you have to do to any car as soon as you get it.

A couple months after I got the car, I left it in the parking lot of the bar I was a regular at (yes, a regular at a bar after being 21 for five months. lol), it got rear ended. That resulted in a smashed tail light, shattered quarter panel, and a hole in the rear bumper from the trucks (assuming) tail pipe. So I changed that quarter panel, but the cheapest one I could get was white. Then, after a WAI, and a fart can, I got to here. \/ \/ \/

So I have been spending the last week working on the car. It's been hot out and I had a lot of other things to do this week to, so I didn't get quite as much done as I wanted too. But I got a fair amount done. I picked up the parts car for cheap and started swapping panels, rims, struts, and lowering springs. I was told they are sprint 2.5.

The trim along the bottom is still red, so I need to swap those. Then I want to paint the roof black, and repaint the front and rear bumpers and the trunk lid. White of course.

P.S. That last pic is the parts car with my old panels on it.

MINT compared to the old ones. lol. They had stupid dragon graphics on it when I picked it up, but they pealed off easily and I just got the glue off today with some goof off. But I am much less embarrassed to ride around in it now. lol. Can't wait to finish it though, I am loving this white.

hard to tell if they have a real deep shine or not but if you really want a super deep shine, cut with 2000 grit sandpaper. but you have to keep constant water rujnning over the spot that you are doing. Then buff. you will get a super crazy shine with no scratches or spidering

It's not real deep, but it looks kinda clean. I just want it all to match. lol.

BTW, it handles SOOOOOOO much better now. Bumps are worse, but I can go around corners without the car wanting to flip over. lol.

yup. I did those yesterday. First drive was to buffalo wild wings with Andy (A66bronco) and a friend then to go see transformers (AWESOME). There are some curves that I usually take at about 60 on the way home, and thats pushing it. I took them at about 75 with no problem. I could have easily done 80+.

very nice, I've always thought about doing the lower springs cause I already have the strut brace but lower springs would scare me cause my wife likes to drive my satty

lol, that could be a problem. Mine are 2.5" and I pulled into two of the steepest drives I would have to and haven't had a problem yet. I was very cautious about it though. It's a matter of wether or not you can teach your wife how to go up them. lol. But I am sure a slight drop wouldn't effect it to much.

Glad you think so. I think my car handles better on stock springs and struts then it did with the Sprint extremes.

Well, I am pretty sure the struts in better condition had a LOT to do with it. But it handles a lot better than it did, and I like the look a lot more too. So I am happy.

Hell, I even had GR-2's running the extremes and it was still really sloppy. Idk, I know my car takes turns faster in it's current state. I did however forget to mention how nice your ride is turnin out.
