    Q&A here... viewtopic.php?f=61&t=32859

    im setting the car up to run dsp in SCCA autocross cuz it has way too many parts i don't wanna take off to run sts.

    so here is the car i payed 400 for.

    THE GOOD:

    SDA full race port intake manifold
    SPS TB
    Fidenza flywheel
    AEM sri (was cai but the bottom tube was fucked so i threw it away)
    MSD coils
    Zoom stage 1 clutch
    mp3 with only 30k miles on it (i doubt it has a welded pin or lsd)
    pacesetter header
    2.25 exhaust
    pre-drilled for wideband
    timeslip from it running a 9.1 1/8th mile (at lakeland which runs low times)
    yellow? (i think it looks cool but im gonna have to repaint it)
    sunroof (adds weight but i like it, if i had the choice it wouldn't have one but since it does im not gonna complain too much)
    no a/c (i dont have to remove it)
    VERY FAST CAR!

    THE BAD:

    VERY hard to start
    when it does start it doesn't run that good
    vacuum leak
    damaged quarter panel, tail light, and trunk lid.
    half converted to black interior and half striped interior
    broken seats both driver and passenger
    radiator from a 95 eclipse zip tied on (bad ass radiator though)
    no brakes (rear cylinders leak and front hoses are bad)
    blown shocks with sleaved coilovers that are not threaded on.
    motor mounts are done.
    one bad headlight motor.
    3 14" mazda wheels and one 13" steel wheel
    stupid ass seatblets that slide dont work (they are binding somehwere but i HATE those kind of belts)

    WHAT IM GONNA DO TO IT:

    (*mean its on or done, and $ means its ordered or has been purchased waiting to be installed)
    * get it running
    * fix the vacuum leak
    * second gen valve cover
    * AMR front STB
    $ AMR rear STB
    $ AMR coilovers with camber plates and pillow balls
    $ fix the inerior
    $ fix the body
    $ change belts to 2nd gen style (NO SLIDERS!)
    motor for the head light
    $ saturn radiator and fan with autozone thermostat, sell the eclipse one.
    $ new motor mounts
    get a set of 15's for the street and use my falken hanabi wheels for the track
    $ install sx1 front sway bar
    $ switch the larger rear sway bar onto the new race car.
    $switch batteries b/w the 2 cars so the new race car will have the odyssey racing battery
    lsd maybe?
    fix the paint

    ive got a lot of work to do, and very little time to do it cuz this car has to go to CT with me in a week.

            so i ripped off the old quarter panel and trunk and put a new one on (the trunk's paint is fine thats just dirt from the jy on it). the quarter fits better than the right side, however the left support arm for the trunk is bent so i measured and bent and measured and bent till i got it as close to the right as i could... and its not perfect but good enough for right now. later if it bothers me i can work on it some more but i just need to get this thing on the road.

              so now im pissed! the 2nd gen belts need a bracket welded in to fit on a first gen.
