    Re: DoubleD's 1999 SL2 - N/A Daily Driver

    May 2006
Bought my 99 SL2 after graduating high school. Unfortinatly I had to sell my baby to get it (1979 Camaro).
My parents were moving to Goshen, IN (10 hr drive) and I need a vehicle that could get me from the University of Tennessee
(I'm a Mechanical Engineering student there) and back without costing a $1000 in gas.
So I bought the Saturn with the intent on not touching or putting any money into it.
Good on gas and simple to keep running. That lasted about 3 months.

      Re: DoubleD's 1999 SL2 - N/A Daily Driver

      August 2006 and September 2006
Well I know that I had told myself not do anything to the Saturn, but lets be serious here.
After building my camaro almost form the ground up, I was just itching to work on another car.
So I broke down and looked around on eBay for some cheap little upgrades.

      -CP 2.5" Cold Air Intake
      -OBX Header
      -Bomz Front Strut Tower Brace

      Working on the Header

Was pretty impressed with these slight upgrades.....and it was all downhill form here.

          Re: DoubleD's 1999 SL2 - N/A Daily Driver

          December 2006 and January 2007

Well got a few gifts from the girlfriend for Christmas (gauges being one) and had some extra cash, so I also bought springs and struts from someone one Saturnspot (back before I move to here). I also picked up some rims and an SDA Throttle Body while I was at it.

          -SDA Throttle Body
          -KYB GR-2 Struts
          -Spring Springs, 2” Drop
-BSA Racing Rims – 8 Spoke, Black w/ Chrome Lip 40 offset, 15x6.5, Model #243

Love the look of the springs and not to shabby on the handling. Throttle Body made only a little difference. I love my gauges though.

            Re: DoubleD's 1999 SL2 - N/A Daily Driver

            July 2007 - Sept 2007
Well I started saving up my money in March for a Full N/A build (Including Tuning and Exhaust). I was on mission trip all May and June, plus I helped Robert(boomerw06) with his N/A build. So I started on my N/A build in late July.
Over all I am extremely happy happy with both my car and my build. The car runs great and the speed isn't bad either. Lost to my Friends RSX Type-S by a little more than a car length, so Cams and I'll be happy!

-Tires - 205/55R15 Kuhmo ECSTA ASX
-Intake Manifold - Port and Polished (Gasket Matched)

              March 2008

-RPM 17.5" 3-Way Adjustable Rear Sway Bar

All I can say about this upgrade is wow. Talk about a totally different feeling car. My car handles so much better on the street, and it really helped in Auto X last weekend too. The body just feels much more solid. Now all I need to do is get some better endlinks.

Also Never put pics up of the exhaust after I got the muffler rehung.

                April 2008
Well got ahold of a set of SPS rotors, and bought some Hawk HPS's to go with them. Also installed a manual fan switch.
I noticed that I didn't have any newer interior pics up, so they are going up as well.

                  Summer 2008
                  UPDATE!.
Well it was a wonderful summer.....not really.
I went home to IN to visit to Folks, and my mother backed into my car and knocked it 10ft into the yard....got new headlights and fender, but still looking for a bumper.

After I had got home, i got a hairline fracture in my tranny from the diff pin, so now I'm in the process of getting another tranny.

On a lighter note....I bought THESE!!!

                  AND THESE!!!.

                  MORE INFO TO COME.
