• 1988 Mazda RX-7 with V8 swap

Hi guys I just purchased an 88 RX-7 GXL with a Ford 351w swap and 3 speed C4 trans. it has 85k miles on the used engine and an Edelbrock rpm manifold, BBK headers, Holley 650 carb and 3" exhaust have been added with Apex'i fart cannon. The C4 tranny has been rebuilt and has a reverse manual valve body and a hurst shifter along with a turbo II rear end to handle all the extra power with LSD and 4.10 gears. It also is sporting 18" wheels and widebody front fenders. Plan is to dial in ther carb better, get all the gauges working and throw some paint on it this summer. Most likely it will be painted black. This is my weekend summer toy so it might see some drag and even a few autocrosses just for fun. I'll update as things progress. Here are some photos:

With a 2700lb curb weight, rear wheel drive, and gobs of torque this thing should haul some ass. Once I get everything working properly I have a nitrous kit in the garage that's ready to go on it too.

      For $1500 I can't complain

Plus the stock n/a 13B motor only has 146hp and like 120lb ft of torque. Not sure yet on horsepower rating for the 351 but I think its around 225hp and 300lb ft, plus it has a few bolt ons so it should be pretty quick as is and reliable as hell...I hope lol.

well looks like they fixed the apex seals LOL, with v8 you got a lot of options for the power.

Wow, who ever did the swap could of cleaned it up more... like this:

My buddy did this one, the way you where discribing yours I thought you might of bought his. Because the details are almost exact.

BTW my bro's built 351 that had the same manifold and carb too IIRC. and his build was close to 400 HP at the fly, and IDR the Torque. I do realize that there is allot more than that to achieve HP but I didn't build it so I don't know ALL the details. I just know that he had a uber clean install.
