    Finally get to do the engine!!! PICS ADDED!!!

    Well after about 5+ years of trying to save the money to build my engine I will finally be able too. Although I would much rather have my dad back :cry:

    Well to the parts: Its going to be just a N/A build with the possibility of spray in the future.

    Ive got a stroker crank that was done by one of our field reps for the guys in the shop machined by a race shop in Tenn, which consist of an off-set grounded and re-welded crank, 91-98 stock rod, 99+ hyper pistons w/ .040 overbore. Going by the math of our rep it "should" take it from the 1.9l to just a tad under 2.3l, let me repeat myself this is his math NOT mine! Im having the block machined for clearance at the bottom end, ans well as balanced for piece of mind to probbably 7500 of so not really sure on that yet.

    Ive also got a ported head w/ SDA stainless valves and hi-temp valve seals, and SDA cams as well.

    As usual ive got all of the basic bolt-ons i/h/e, SAFC2, PLX wideband and such. Ive also been working on an ITB set-up as well but not sure if this will go on yet. Wish me luck!!               2.3L? i thought monstahs build with 0.080" over bore was only a 2.0L? i know you said his math....just..."ambitious" i guess.

                its stroked, so the displacement will be even greater. I hope the sleeves are long enough!

                I want pics! I was thinking today about how I would have done my build differently, and it mainly consisted of getting a better head and cams.

                  Well I took the block , crank, rods, pistons and rings down to the machine shop the other day. He said it would be approximately 2 weeks before I hear or get anything back. But as soon as I do I will take somemore pics and try to get them all posted. One of the lead techs in the shop is going to help with putting it all together and in. Right now he is building the head.

                  So here is what the machine shop is doing clean & bore block, balance rotating assembly, machine bottom of the block, and if its possible deck the block. I the crank from the shop in tenn. says that its a 3.8156 stroke on the crank. I have a few pics of the end of the crank as well as the tag that was on it. Will get pics up as soon as im able.                     UPDATE!!!!

                    Ok after 3 weeks being at the machine shop I called them today to check on the status of the block and how things are going. Well first of all he has only been actually working on it for the last week, he was waiting on me to get the lower tie plate (*side note: Thanks again jeep*) which I got last friday and took it down promptly. So I called him today and he has bored the block and thats about it. But he has determined that while the rod/pistons are at the bottom of the block that the bottom of the pistons hits the counterweights of the crank, so they are going to have to grind on the couterweights for clearance. Which is no big deal cuz it was going to get balanced anyways. Crossing my fingers he said that the block should be done sometime next week. Now the tech in the shop is kinda taken his time on putting the head together which obviously is no big deal at this point.

                    Now as far as pics go ive got them loaded to my new laptop and currently wainting on Brighthouse to come out and hook up the internet at my house, so I should hopefully be able to load those up sometime next week! Thanks again and wish me luck

                      according to my math, and your specs, i figured it out to be 2.0L (2.049494767085)

                      well basically, not a perfect fomula, just a really close estimation.

                        Sounds like a cool project!
                        Try to get some video of the finished running engine too along with any other build pics along the way.
                        I'll be watching for updates. I'm sure your dad would be proud.

                          Ok so I got the block back today from the machine shop and it wasnt as bad as I anticipated!! Basically a run down of what was done
                          : degreased the block $60
                          : bore cylinders $60
                          : balanced rotating assembly $125
                          : assembled short block $75
                          : clearenced the block $100
                          : polished crankshaft $25
                          : clearenced crankshaft $75
                          : bearing sets $90
                          For a total after tax of $615.95!!!


                          We also figured out what the size is as well with this formula bore x bore x stroke x .785 x # of cylinders. So it came up to 3.28" bore, 3.815" stroke= 128.88 ci or 129 ci/2.1liters!!!

                          Now just waiting on the guys in the shop to be able to swap the one in for the new. Oh yea ive got pics but the site is saying that they are to big to upload, anybody wanna help so I can put them on? Please and Thank you!! Thanks again

                            That's gonna be amazing. You'll be having fun with that BEFORE you put any spray on there! If you put ITB's on it and throw some cams in, I'm flying out there for a ride!

                              Well it will have the sda street cams as they are currently in the car. The only thing about the itb set-up is the whole standalone tunning thing [img]{SMILIES_PATH}/redface.gif[/img] as I dont have any experience nor know enough about it. Any help on this matter is and will be definately appriciated. But thanks on the support!!
