Zack's Saturn overhaul...update: exhaust video

Don't have a build thread for the turd so why not make one now.

History of the car: My grandparents owned this car since it was brand new, and I was the lucky one to receive it when I turned 16. <img src="{SMILIES_PATH}/lol.gif" alt=":lol:" title="Laughing" />

My plan is to park it over the summer and get as much done to it as possible so when winter comes around I wont mind driving it as much. This is everything that I want to get done.

new battery
replace front window regulators with power ones (drivers side is broken)
replace non adjustable mirror w/ power side mirror
Install the last power door lock actuator (other 3 are installed)
Install my component speakers in front doors. (Tweeter is going in the window crank hole)
new radio (Kenwood KDC-x891)
complete the black interior
new brake pads
new rotors
SS brake lines (maybe)
flush out the brake fluid and replace with new stuff.

oh yea and maybe a retrofit, but that is going to be last on my list.

Thats all I can think of at the moment. Im sure there will be more stuff as the summer progresses.

Damn rust. I know Saturn sells replacement pieces, but I think it's gotten to bad for those.



And these are what I came back from the JY with today.
2 rear door panels. No cracks at all
2 rear door sill covers.




Here's the one that is painted and is currently drying. I cleaned the hell outta it, applied 3 coats of adhesion promoter and like 4 coats of paint.

It was meant for a 3rd gen so I had to modify it. I still havent gotten the right size coupler so I had to use some peel and seal to make the pipe larger.

about the retro fit.
i want to try it on my first gen. same head lights. when you say retro fit you do mean projectors right? if so tell me your plans with that ugly fluting.. thannks

One more door panel done and the dome light. This one turned out great. I used pretty much a whole can of paint on it. I scratched at it where the fabric will cover and no marks or anything.

It's really bright in the garage so it doesn't look as black as it really is.

so what are you doing about the rust?

I think im going to get the replacement panels and take it to someone that can weld them in and if the area is larger than the replacement they'll have to do some metal work.

if you find black leather interior at the jy when your out there...txt me and try and get a price on the seats. ur only a 2 hour drive.

no problem. The one I went to yesterday sucked and only had 3 sedans and no coupes.

im an idiot for not going when we did ur trans...when there were two there with black leather. and that dude paid like 50 for his ful set. fuucckk me.

just remember, u have to keep my drivers seat still lol

My seat is finally fixed. I swapped the frame from another seat back. No more gangsta lean..lol

Little update..

Painted the other door panel. Came out just as well as the other one.

Went to another JY that didnt have anything I really needed. Ended up finding a yellow 01 sc2 and grabbed the 1 remaining black emblem on it as well as the a/c line that runs down the drivers side to the dryer. Im still debating if I want to keep the a/c or not.

I freshened up the passenger door panel today. Repainted it cause I didnt do the best job when I originally did it. I also installed the tweeter. Looks sweet imo.
