Update:

the gutting is well underway. I take off a half dozen major parts or so, then go watch tv and clean them. Lather, rinse, repeat...

Gotta call the local yards and price the main front dash structural piece. Previous owners broke the support piece that goes under the center vents (as well as the vents themselves). If it's too much, the old dash will go back in. Otherwise, I'll get to do all this dismantling again, but in a junkyard and with far less care. lol

Finished cleaning the dash & reinstalled it, as well as the shifter. The console is cleaned as well, but not yet reinstalled as I need to clean underneath it first. The seats have all been removed, the driver's seat has been disassembled, cleaned, and reinstalled.

      BEFORE:

      NOW:

Still need to replace a couple vent flappy things, and get a radio, and superglue the plastic part of the dash that the radio bezel screws into. Also have to decide between taking the carpet to a car wash & washing the heck out of it, or just pitch it & buy new, or whatever I can find decent in a local yard. Also have to finish cleaning the seats, and "Lake Squirt" under the back seat (that nearly full 12 pack in the "before" pictures... all those cans had frozen & leaked all over the place, soaking down through the back seat base. BEFORE:

      NOW:

I feel fairly certain that the bad misfire the car had when purchased had to do with the bosch platinum plugs, two of which were in enough oil to submerge my entire spark plug socket, due to a leaking valve cover gasket. New gasket, plugs, plug wires, and PCV valve later, and it looks much better. Have to give the RTV valve cover time to cure, though (used normal black RTV, which requires 24 hours to dry, longer if it's cold... and it's cold. Got put on midday Saturday, we'll see how she runs monday).

Umm... yeah, forgot to update this.

Sometime last year, I yanked the engine (which had a bad valve seal and massive engine sludge)& trans, and sold the car to... twistedsc2? Who towed it back to his place near Denver, CO. It may live again someday. I love first gen sedans, and looking at these pictures again makes me kinda miss her, even if she deserved her name.
