Re: TypeSL2's Supercharger Build

It's been a while since I updated this thing. Not too much to add, just some parts that I bought. Hopin to have engine built around summer time and then break-in till next spring. Then she should be boosted!

        Re: TypeSL2's Supercharger Build

It has been way too long since I have updated this post. I finally got my block and internals to the machine shop. Having everything balanced to 9k, block bored and having the connecting rod bushing bored to fit wrist pin. Purchased head and all timing goodies (minus the timing gears for now) from SDA.

Will be building engine over the next couple of weeks and am hoping to have the engine installed around the first couple weeks of spring. With the new engine, I will be installing the megasquirt, since it will be super easy to lace all of the wires in the existing loom with the engine out.

Pics will be up as soon as I get my block and stuff back from the shop. Just wanted to let everyone know that this is by no means an abandoned project.

                Re: TypeSL2's Supercharger Build

No way. I converted to manual less than 2 weeks after I bought the car. It locked in 2nd or 3rd, can't remember now, on my way home from Florida. Just swapped all the parts from my old wrecked sedan. I will throw up some more updated shots of the car and parts. Didn't realize my interior was still the old interior. Looks much different now.

                  Re: TypeSL2's Supercharger Build

Thanks for the other compliments. Here are some progress pics from today. Since I got all of my stuff back from the machine shop and I won't be able to assemble everything til I get my head, I decided that I am going to paint the block while everything is apart.

Updated pic of the interior. I am in the process of getting rid of the harness. The buckle part fell apart on me.

I love them. They are a very tight fit in the car, but they are so comfortable.
