Gold 93 SC2 turbo *video pg3*

Well I couldnt help myself when i found this car for $100. Complete with title so I was happy. So i purchased this in the thoughts of a project car so i still have my other sc2 for daily driving still. cant beat the gas milage when i have to drive 110miles a day. anyways. my plans are as follows:

Gut interior and trunk.
remove excess plastic and unneeded support in bumper
2.5" exhaust
t3 turbo
log manifold
front mount intercooler
8psi wastegate (to start)
ect....

Second step would be to replace the current motor with a prepared motor:
ported and polished head
ported and polished intake manifold
ported and polished tb
Cams
Stock compression pistons
forged rods
blanced and blue printed block.
6 puck clutch
lightweight fly wheel
welded differential pin

Well over the last week i've gutted the interior leaving only the dash still intact. starting to pull up all the deadener, and need to weld in some sheet metal on part of the floor pan as it was completely rusted. also cleaned up the trunk some and painted it so it hopefully wont rust anymore.

Well just a little update.

I fixed the trunk. The bracket was stripped so the trunk lid would shift when closed. So went to a local junk yard and picked up the bracket for $6. Works perfect and now shouldnt get any water in my trunk.

Hopefully fixed my sunroof. leaks like crazy when it rains. didnt help it was rusted all the way around the frame. So i removed the rust the best i could. primed it, painted it. put a bead of silicone around the edge, and then put the weatherstripping on it. then smoothed some silicone around the top and bottom edges just for some extra protection. Also vacumed out all the rust particles near the tracks and drain tubes as it was plugging them.

Lastly picked up a nice seat for the car. a 3A racing seat in black. Local sale, great condition. just need to vacume it and get a harness now. dont have a pic of the exact seat, but its identical to these but black.

Well I'll start by posting the pics of last weekends progress. i know it aint the prettiest work on the sunroof, but hell it works perfectly and it isnt a show car so i dont care. I wont have to worry about any rust due to water inside the car anymore.

Ok and now brings us to today. after looking at the floor again and how i could actually fix it, i figured that the plexiglass idea though looks cool and sounded cool, wouldnt work out to well and would probably just cause my problems in the long run. So I went about with fiberglass and bondo. I also cleaned up the spots in which looked to be having rust under the paint. The plugs in the floor of my car were pretty well trashed so i decided to just plug them off along with the one in the trunk. This is what i did today waiting for someone to call me and tell me they wanted to see me but never did. [img]{SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif[/img]

I dunno how to wire this damn box though. was told it was a SDS EIC 034, but can't find any kind of wiring diagram.

I haven't given up on this project, a little hard to work on it in the cold. But i will be having a very large update in the coming weeks, and working on something that no one else has done with a saturn that i am aware of.

Well since the parts started to roll in now i figured i should post and update. Today pure sex arrive at my door, and a day early. take a look.


Does it look familar to anyone? lets just say it will take anything i can probably throw at it.

My $5 piece of 2.5" mandel pipe. as you can see its a pretty good size pipe. :shock:



Pulled the motor and trans in preperation for the new motor and trans w/welded diff.
Put the stock mp3 into the 98 at the same time as it blew the diff pin [img]{SMILIES_PATH}/sad.gif[/img]

Well many more parts to still arrive and to finish building. but any question find the Q&A post.

Another box of goodies arrived today. over the next week I;m going to need to take a guage to work along with the center part of the dash and the side vents to get some plates CNC'd at work to hold the gauges. Hopefully get some piping to make the collector for the itb's as well.

Well I know i havent update lately but i have had some time recently now that it is warm out again to get some work done. I have been able to disassemble the entire front of the car basically. I am working on cleaning up the engine compartment and the subframe at the momment. also removed the plastic reenforement for the 93 bumper in order to make room for the 95 bumper i have picked up recently. also have a new rear bumper to replace the cracked one currently on the car. plan on moving over the shaved trunk to this car from the purple 93. Also since i probably will get bored soon i plan on shaving all the emblems from the car and repainting it a new color, which i will disclose later at which time i will ask for some help with a photoshop.

note to self: buy impact sockets. hate breaking sockets all the time.

I will post up some pictures tomorrow.
