  • Robert's 1991 Volkswagen Passat | Head is Done & Running!

Majority of the work on the car is small shit.

I just recently got my hands on some projector lights from an Alfa Romeo and started to work on making them fit for the VW. I have taken some pics so far....

This is the vw's right head light assembly torn apart.

Here is the Romeo's torn apart

Had to resize the lens base to fit in my housing

    Mounted in the vw's housing

HID bulb fits in there perfectly

and there is the housing being painted.

Still to come are the cover for the inner part of the housing which I will make out of Plexiglas and it too will be painted and fit it in for a test. More to come!

        Update:

        FUCK YOU CHINGY!!!!!!!!!!!!

Me no rikey you face! When I got the replacement ballast in for the HID I thought that YAY now I can do the projectors. Well, there I was testing out the projector with the new ballast. I stepped away for 5 minutes, not even that, and I saw the bulb flashing and smoke pouring out of the ballast box. FFFFFFFFFFFFUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCCC CCKKKKKKKKKKKKKK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

According to chingy's ebay ad I still have warranty coverage. We'll see if he's a little bitch and then I report him. That is all.

well, I suppose an update is due. Last night the adapter on the side of the block for one of the heater hoses cracked and pissed out coolant and blew the head gasket. so now I have a new adapter on but now I gotta tear the head off and do the gasket. might shave the head a little and maybe switch the cam to spice it up. TBD. or might just get another car if the cost is too much.

Moar Head!!!!!!!! It finally came off!!!!!!!! I have to get it pressure tested and cleaned really good. By eying it I didn't see any warp but we'll find out later this week when it goes to the shop. Can we say one dirty knee grow? fuggin need to soak this puppy for a bit in some good shit because it's caked on there pretty good. Getting it out was a real bitch and when I went to take the exhaust gasket off I noticed that one of the studs was loose so I tapped it and it had been cracked for quite a bit. cam seal took a shit and so did 2 of the exhaust gaskets. I have reason to believe that the blockage in the passage may have been a contributor to some on the mayhem, take a look! let me know what you guys think of it.

Ok, WHY the fuck are these restricting my intake????????????

Car runs and sounds much better. At first when I started it I had a tapping and I thought FUCK I bent a valve. But I drove it around the block and the tap went away. Was just a sticky lifter.
