  • Classic Edition

Picked it up for $300 yesterday, 1996 Saturn SC2 Classic Edition.
Has the gray leather seats which are ripped up
Sunroof(doesn't open up all the way)
    ABS all wheel discs
    Power everything

It's a one owner but needs a lot of work that needs to be done. The person who had it before put gold pinstripe all around but the red pinstripe was underneath so I tired take most of the gold off cause I want the red back but the whole thing needs to be redone.

Smokes like crazy(Go figured) and I have to slam the gas in order to start it. If I don't slam it and keep it rev up for awhile it will stall out.

Coolant gauge doesn't work and the radiator fan doesn't kick on.

Foglights don't turn on and the traction button is always on every time I start the car.

Needs a major detail job, oh and the transmission grinds every time I push in the clutch and put it in first.

So yeah I got a project on my hand and its a keeper. This I'm not getting rid of.

the traction always comes on and stays on everytime u start the car, even if u manually hit the button and turn it off. itll come right back on when u turn off and back on the car.

        Re: Classic Edition

        no problem.
youll know it needs serviced when it doesnt come on, the traction light inside the tach stays lit and the ABS light stays lit. niether with work. happens eventually your culprit will 9 times out of 10 be an abs sensor on one of the 4 wheels. only a dealer can scan it and tell u though. also, the light in the tach will flash repeatedly when the traction control system engages.

        is the fog switch broken?
i have one of those panels, fog, defog and traction if u need on. cheap

That'll be a great project car... beat to hell mechanically, but what appears to be not terrible exterior from the pictures!

          Great find!

I wasn't aware of a Classic Edition? Was it a dealer 'package' or something?
It's not my fault, blame the radiation.

              Re: Classic Edition

It was factory. Pretty much just perforated seats and black badges.

There was one for sale locally, but the sea‏s wee torn up, so I didn't see much point in buying it.

                  Re: Classic Edition

Yeah the exterior is in very good shape except some scratches here and there, but the interior is shot. Like to reupholster the gray leather seats cause they are just torn up like crazy. The engine actually runs very smooth while its idling and driving but not one I take off or try getting it started. Need to figure this out. But thank everybody for the opinion.

redhotFTW!- I don't know if its broken I have to check it a little later, how much you sell that anyway
