  • Interest in Gsi TB bracket (aluminum)

I've seen the interst in the gsi tb brackets lately and was thinking, i talked to my friend and he thinks he can probably make some out of machined aluminum. i just want to see what the interest in this would be.

I would like a minimum of 10 - 15 people to start and the cost would be about $20 raw and painted. (what ever color)
    thanks

Aluminum may be too soft for that bracket.

I'm just commenting to say "No comment".

Seriously though, alum would be fine for the bracket, granted you got a strong enough alloy (your thinking correctly).
It's not my fault, blame the radiation.

I don't know what type of super duper throttle cables you guys have to worry about strength like this.

The one I made out of steel flexed like nobodies business. And I thought it was hefty. Thats why I would worry. Enough flex and it's just going to crack on you going down the road.

Weird. I have the thinnest sheet of aluminum on mine and it's really solid.

<magpie> i bet you just hit a deer with your vehicle
                      <magpie> and call it "hunting"
<JustNoodle> I drive a saturn, I'd have more of a chance of my car exploding then killing a deer when I hit one

ok now that we have cleared the strength issue that really is not a problem at all. is there anyone? im ready to make em up...

Longevity? Aluminum cracks plain and simple. I still would buy a steel made one over aluminum.

not all alloys of aluminum crack under constant repetitive pressure
it mostly depends upon construction and not material
