  • Intake and Exhaust Manifold flanges

I am having a intake and exhaust manifold flange waterjeted by a friend for the second gen head. They will be out of steel 1/2 thick for exhaust and probobly alluminum for intake(still pending). The intake flange is being made off a Fel-Pro gasket (like the SDA spacer) and the exhaust flange is off a factory gasket. Probobly will be like a 3-4 week time before he gets to it but the price will be $60 shipped each. So if you want to make some custom manifolds this is a great start. In the future I may be offering custom sheet metal intakes but we will see how mine turns out first. If you buy more than 1 at the same time I will nock $5 off the second one.

Feel free to give opinions / advice they are not set in stone yet.

    1. That's really expensive.

    2. The intake side should be aluminum.

    3. They should be more than 1/4" thick.

    Best of luck.

Well if that is the general opinion they can be made thicker and out of different materials. The price is the price tho I could actually make it more because The first set is going to cost $225 to have digitalized and made. After that they are going to be $55-60 plus the shipping to you.

Wait a bit and I'll get some files cleaned up and posted. I've started the intake manifold flange (below). I'll digitize the exhaust side also. $225 isn't a bad price for digitizing. You should get the files if you are paying for them.

I'll post up the .dxf of the exhaust when I get home. I don't have it on my work computer anymore.

            Agreed

Not to move in on your business (cause I am swamped anyway), but I can get these all day in 1/2" CNC'd for $60.

I can do just about anny material and thickness for the same price and I just called him to ask on the price and it looks like they will be $55 + I figure $5 shipping so it will be $60 each.

So 1/2" it is. What material do you guys want. I was thinking steel just because of the ease of welding to it. (aka I cant weld alluminum)

take a welding class or just practice to learn aluminum, its not that difficult...if you actually know how to clean your metal. (aluminum is the needy bitch that needs to be clean perfect)

Aluminum is the bitch that is picky about the heat range

It is going through but I figure for the intake I am going to make a sheetmetal intake for my car. AKA I will need a throttle flange but I dont know what to use for a throttle body. If we can agree on a throttle body that everyone will want to use I can have a flange made for that.

I even think the IAC and TPS will work.
