  • Deaeration Line Fitting Broken

    2002 SC2

I have a broken deaeration line fitting to the engine.

It *looks* like it might be a replaceable part. I'm really hoping it is not an integrated part of the manifold or something. Because that would suck.

I'm trying to find a part number, but I can't find it on any parts website, or even in the OEM repair manual. Can anyone tell me what I need to know to find it? A part number, a correct name, or whatever?

Ok, so it looks like I need to replace the entire intake manifold...

Are there any aftermarket ones that offer better performance than the stock one?

Is that the coolant line? Dorman repair kit. Pretty common issue

I found the Dorman kit, and one from Carsaturn

Has anyone tried the one from Carsaturn? Or are they the Dorman kit, just repackaged?

Will the second gen intake manifold fit on the third gen?

No they are different. Saturn changed head design in 2000 iirc. Look up saturn swap guide. It has an interchange list

Deleting my earlier question regarding which gasket is best. I was looking at the wrong model year.

For 2002 model year, it looks like Carsaturn is simply selling Fel-Pro rubber gaskets at an insane markup.

Installed the Carsaturn part. It’s a nice piece. No leaks so far.

FYI, their video shows the guy cutting at an angle to the vertical axis. Don’t do that. Just cut straight down as close to the pipe as possible. Otherwise it won’t fit and you’ll be cutting again.

Also the studs they send are not great. There are only about six threads going into the aluminum block. So if you can find better studs, do it. ARP has some that might work, but they are $$$.
