• The Official Brok3d Transmission Thread.

It seems like every week someone comes along and says "I think there is something wrong with my car, all the transmission fluid is on the ground."

So instead of everyone whipping out their own pics of diff pin breakage, lets just put them all in one thread, so we can just link instead of posting all the same pics 1000x

NOTE: If you are ever redirected to this thread. You need a new transmission. You broke the differential pin while doing something stupid. Spinning the tires, driving like an ass, etc. Just because you made it home after doing the 10 minute wheelspin, doesn't mean that's not when the problem started. After it cools, that's when the pin comes out typically. At this point you are driving around normal and when it breaks you pretend you have done nothing wrong to the car and it has left you stranded for no apparent reason. So now you have an air cooled transmission that is nothing more than a pile of scrap metal. Go get a new one, and either:
    A. weld in the diff pin so this is less likely to happen again, or
    B. Buy a Quaife so this will not ever happen again.

Your's most likely looks something like this now, Welcome to the club!!

it is scrap aluminum actually. take the gears out and other metals and you can get a few bucks for just the aluminum..

LOL, Good idea for a thread!

        I'm a two time member!

Original tranny w/ about 170k... She's just a lil baby hole.

Then the replacment w/ welded diff and a PG. (something was not right w/ this tranny from the start, I could feel it) and then she went to the track and the light turned GREEN.....the result, total destruction!!!

I am a two time member. Broke and auto trans spinning on ice and shot the diff out the side of another in the rain.

Now running a welded Diff with a PG> hopefully it will hold up a bit longer.
