camshaft position sensor ses (0341 iirc)

keeps coming on.. like once every month or two.. for a few days.. then it'll go away

seems to come on most when it rains.. maybe just coincidence.

i replaced the wires, and it seemed to run much better, and the light didn't come on for a few months.. now it's back.

should there be grease on the connections between the coil packs and spark plug wires? if so, would it be a good idea to maybe clean it off and reapply, and if so, does anyone have a preference when it comes to which grease?

Any type of silicon based lube should work just fine. Usually the new wires will come with a little pack of lube. Two other things, make sure the crimps are nice and tight on the towers, and if the towers seem questionable, hit 'em with a little emery cloth to clean them up a bit.

This same thing used to pop up every once in a while on my old 01 SC2. I would just reset the code and forget about it. I had MSD wires and if the #1 and #4 wires shifted at all I would get the code. They have to run right next to one another in order for the compression sense ignition crap to work.

Ahh, that makes sence. I wondered why the 1/4 plug wires came clipped together (the Saturn brand ones, not aftermarket OEM crap). The EM feild generated by the flow of current must act upon both wires and the module picks up on the resistance and/or current that the EM field generates threw the circuit.

i use to get the code every cold/damp morning. i wouldnt worry about it if the car doesnt seem to run bad or any other problems are noticed. the light will usually turn off next time its started or after a couple cycles. it was a common thing for me after i put the wai on the car. i then replaced the wires and coils with msd and still got the code during the certain times. i got stock wires and coils for it, and it would still do it on those certain days.

Mine ended up being a small crack in the coil that would act up when it rained or was damp/foggy out.

Generally it has to do with the igniton system (Plugs, wires, or coil packs.) Id put dielectric grease in the side that plugs onto the coils. Also make sure the coil's posts are clean.
