I had a SAFC II installed for about six months. Never been tuned, have kept it at a factory tune due to financial reasons.
Had a friend try to street tune it (on a narrow band) behind my back, caused it to detonate and destroy a spark plug. Threw a SES light, checked the plugs, yup, one of them was smashed. Replaced them, SES light went off, all's good (and no, I'm not asking about the SES lighs, as per the rules of this forum).
I ended up taking the SAFC II out. I'm not going to be using it for my turbo setup, and it was causing me problems. Therefore, it is now sitting on my desk. Even with a factory tune, the car wasn't agreeing with it.
BUT, even after all of this, the car still has a high idle. I have replaced the plugs, wires, PCV valve, cleaned the TB and air filter. What it does is it idles at 1300 RPMS momentarily, and then settles down, but still idles higher than it should. The idle is also lumpy, which could be due to motor mounts, which have been ordered and should be in soon. I cannot find a vacuum leak.
Any theories?
