  • fuel filter

    i feel alittle slow right now....

    but i cant get the fuel hose off the fuel rail... haynes says it should bring a plastic tool to slide under from the replacement filter. But i have not seen anything else except the actual filter.

    Help please!!

    well if its the plastic lines, you should be able to squeez the little tabs and it should pull right off...lemme try to find a pic. You shouldnt need the tool for the plastic one, but the metals ones. yes

      On my car, one of the fuel lines had the squeeze tabs, but the other line had the click lock type thing. Yes, you need that tool to unhook it. The tool looks like this:

          ive bought the filters for the metal lines from vato zone and it came with the little plastic clip to release the line, if it didnt vato zone has a cheap kit that will work for a couple bucks...is yours a metal or plastic line>?

            Yeah, year/model? My 96 SL2's filter just unclipped, no special tool necessary. Getting at the bolts that hold the filter to the car near the firewall, that was a bitch, tho... [img]{SMILIES_PATH}/lol.gif[/img]

                Took me about 5 minutes to change my fuel filter. Then again, i had the engine out of the car :lol:

                      Yeah you gotta get that stupid little tool. When i replaced mine it didt come with the tool either and i had to goto 3 different parts stores to get the damn thing.
