  • SES with codes and troubleshoots and what not.

ok this is what i got.

    32 EGR system problem
    26 quad drive module failure
23 manifold air temp. too low
    75 Info flag-air temp. unstable
    27 Info flag-quad driver fault
    83 Info flag-low coolant level

    Troubleshooting tips.

    23
    IAT temp (c degrees) -45
located before air box on snorkel. May be set if IAT is disconected and switch is cycled on.
If scanner is reading less then -22 (degrees) IAT may be disconected or broken off sensor.

    32
Caused by sticking linear EGR valve pintle. Remove and depress pintle. If pintle sticks, binds, or fails to completly close, replace linear EGR valve

    26
PCM is sensing a fault in any if eight output circuts

didnt have time to look them all up but thats what i got. My teacher told me i have a bad computer, saying something about the Quad driver inside the computer being bad and i should just go get a new one from a junkyard. Also im aware of the low coolant and why it sets up that code.

    So the question...
should I change my computer or what else could be causing those codes to come up?

top off the coolant tank, swap in a new egr, and get a new IAT sensor, then reset the ecu and see what it pulls.

chances are your ecu is fine and you just have fucked sensors all over, which makes sense honestly with how your car is maintained.

        AHHH, SKEET SKEET SKEET.

Yeah, I am suprised I don't toss out more SES codes cosidering my switch from a 96 TB to a 93 TB with 93 vaccum lines going from the 93 TB design, but still going to the same places on the 96 TB design. I really need to figure out if this is going to cause a problem or not, I heard yes, but seen no.

On a some-what related note, by dad has been quick to toss up the ECU is the root of the problem when troubleshooting. Everytime though it has not been the case. He has kind of stopped now. Not sure if he was just in a spell where he just didn't want to work on peoples cars and didn't want the hassel of testing everything, LOL.

The quad driver most likly isn't bad, more likly that one of the sensor on the quad driver circuit are bad. You will need a tech2 and do a quad driver test. It will tell you what passes and fails during the test...then you simple inspect and most liklr replace the senor that is in question...maybe do some wire repair too.
