I want to switch to non-power steering in my car, not really to gain HP, but i actually like the feel of it better. I wasn't sure if i would have to replace the whole assembly or just a few things. I had this in my other SL and loved the way it felt. So how involved is this whole process? Should i be heading over to the Junk yard?

pull pump off, remove lines (leave some power steering fluid in the rack, get some bolts that will fit in the rack where the lines bolt in, get non power steering belt, and im not certain if the ribbed pulley is needed if you still have a/c . probably is but i never dealt with non power steering but have a/c.
now the car is power assisted steering. low speed, it works to help ease steering. at higher speeds it cuts down, or completely quits (i cant quite remember, memory owns me). now the newer s-series i think were fully power steering.Ian---The Fat Ass
