The airbag moduel is just behind the shifter on the floor board. If the noise/sound waves/pressure waves are hitting the module just right, I could see how that is casue a problem.
Does all the shit in the center console vibrate like crazy? If so, then you might want to pull the console up and inspect the secrureity of the air bag module harness (pull the airbag fuse first). If its ok, try getting s little sounds aborbant material and sticking it on all case of the module and harness. Don;t the materail shouldnot affect the preformance of the mudule during an accident. As long as the box is securily fastened to he center of the car, and pointed in the right direction, then it wil still work.-6S Resident Mechanical Forensics member #001.

Ok well I did it today to see if it would do it again and once I let it idle for a sec and rev it a few times. I ran it around a bit and it hasnt done it. Funny thing is I couldnt get the cutout to close and I just so hapened to try and close it and it closed and I have mostly full exhaust now. Thanks Sam. I figured it had to do with the vibration but didnt think it was that bad. Maybe cuz I am used ot it and the bad motor mounts..2002 Saturn SL1- 5 speed, basic, slow, and staying that way.
