I always looked at a cap as putting a bandaid on a gunshot wound. I may be wrong but I would opt for the HO alt...

it's not a short... see if ur ground is hooked up to an illumination wire. i've seen it happen plenty of times. best bet is to jus take ur ground wire and screw it into something that's metal.

actually, you're thinking of it backwards, because I know we've talked about it before with someone else's car

not a bad idea to isolate the ground, makes sense

please tell me this isn't what you called me for at the track yesterday

ok unless they actually added more coils to it then fuck it. you are overdriving it making it hotter and making it fail sooner. I meant ground sorry about that. there is nothing wrong with a cap. its another dampener (same as the battery.)

right, but a cap is not a solution for a weak charging system. 90% of the systems out there that have a cap do not need it, and should have bought a higher amp alternator to begin with (NOT an overdriven one)

Agreed but i didnt htink they even made a true one though w/o overdriving it.

A cap should be installed...it will help dampen the hit on the altenator.

I've yet to see an over driven alternator. The ones I've delt with have all been rewound to a higher output, not had a smaller pull put on.
