i dunno i might have a small leak tho cuz i never see any smoke when i start it or anything, and i lost about a 1 and 3/4 of a quart in 3k miles, but then theres no oil on the ground where i park my car, but then everytime i go under my car i see oil on everything, and then again that might be cuz when i bought the car the girl had spilled oil EVERYWHERE! and i dunno im just confused

but yeah it looked like she spilt a qt of oil with out a drop getting in lol, i had to remove that sound carpet thing from the hood cuz it was full of oil, i couldnt figure out y i would clean my air box and then everytime i opened the hood there would be oil sitting ontop of it lol

Try degreasing your engine bay. At least then, if you are still seeing signs of oil you will know you have a problem.

man it needs more than a degreasing lol its got dirt in there packed 5 inches high that makes me think it had a past life as a rally car lol

1 quart burning off after 3K miles is normal. DOn't worry about it. When you start buring 1 quart every 1500 miles, then start worring.

                    Shit. Time to worry.

I've done 2 MMO soaks, and it still burns a quart per 1k-1.5k miles. I guess a rebuild is in order.

Rebuild is planned for the winter though.. doing it now wouldn't work. Guess I'll just continue to put oil in.

                          bingo.

FYI we burn oil cuz of our craptastic piston design. No amount of things in a can or bottle can change that. PERIOD!

Then that means all cars have a crap tastic piston design since they all burn some amount of oil... NO WRONG

Try running a engine oil system flush threw the engine. We use a BG product at work that is suppose to clean that heavy carbon deposits and since you add it to the oil, it can get to the oil control ring and attack the carbon better then a top engine clean soak.

Run the car unitl its hot...then add the product. Let it run at 1200 rpm for 15 minutes. The fast idle helps keep the engine a littler hot so that he product has a higher solubility (like using hot water instead of cold water)... plus the high idle increases the vacuum a little. That helps the cylinders pull oil up into the control ring and coat the cylinder wall (this good).

After 15minutes, drain the oil and replace the oil filter.

Oh.... beofre you do this, drain the old oil out and put 4 quarts of fresh oil in....but leave the dirty filter on... after you run the gimmick, drain the oil out (it will be really dirty after 15 minutes...like
