• ok i really need new moror mounts

ok so i watched the engen when my dad put it in reverse today and it turned twisted like a full 25 deg, maybe more, so yeah i really uber need some motor mounts.

so i know how to replace the top, i think. all u get is the ruber peice right? and u put a peice of wood bw the car and a jack and jack the motor up a little and u remove 2 bolts to take the cover off the top mount, put the new mount in and ur done right?

but i dont know where the dog bones are or what i need to do to replace them?

TAM:

Get the car in the air, jack up the engine by the oil pan just enough to take the tension off the mount, make sure to put a piece of wood between.

Unbolt the 5 15mm nuts, replace mount.

Lower dogbone:

Take off the pass side wheel and well liner. Unbolt it, two 13mm bolts. Jack up the hub to get enough clearance, pull it out, replace.

Trans DOGBONE:

Unbolt two 13mm bolts, replace.

Trans MOUNT:

Take off the drivers side wheel and well liner. Unbolt the 15mm nut thru the cradle hole. Jack up the trans, unbolt the two 10mm bolts from the trans holding the mount on. Jack it up higher until you can get it out. Its helps if you take out the trans dogbone too.

Lets have a search next time eh?

My clucth chatter and engine move. I deff need new ones... lol. I thought it was three bolts or did older years have only two (or you can be like the 91's w/o a TAM.)

There are 5, two on the frame and three on the timing cover. And they are nuts and studs, not bolts.

wow i just got confused even more, i guess the tam is the same as the top engine mount? there is 5 bolts, 3 on the engine and 2 on the frame. but u say i need to lift the car and then jack it? i cant just jack it on the ground? and if i do would like putting it on ramps be good or do i actualy need to get it on a lift?

and thers 4 mounts? tam, lower bofbone, trans dogbone, and trans mount? where is the trans dogbone?

yes.

I said nothing about a lift. READ. You need to get the car in the air. Drive it up on ramps or put it on jackstands. Use a jack and a piece of wood to support the engines weight.

and thers 4 mounts? tam, lower bofbone, trans dogbone, and trans mount? where is the trans dogbone?
The trans dogbone is under the airbox. Look.

Go out and buy a fucking haynes manual.

Be thankful it's only 1 or 2 of them, I had every single one of my mounts snapped on the SOHC. Boy that was bad
