  • saturn keyless entry/alarm remote

    anyone know how to program the saturn keyless entry/alarm remotes? i tried doing the reset thing but no response. i bought the car used a while back and never tried using the keyless entry cause the battery was supposedly dead. then when i put in a battery... i still didn't get anything. thx for da help in advanced.

    take it to the dealership, thats what I did it takes a few minutes so you may not get charged the whole hour.

      Theres a how to at saturnfans, no need to pay the stealership.
      07 Redline w/ stuff.<br /><br />89 Civic hatch w/o stuff.<br /><br />96 SL2 that dont need stuff.

        lucky mine was free due to my deployed state at the time, dude told my dad he'd do it for anyone if they just pulled up to the bay

          All you need is a paper clip and the directions to do it yourself. Don't pay the dealer for such a simple job. It takes less then 1 minute to complete yourself.

            It depends on the year. Older cars need the paper clip, the newer ones need the TECH2 to be plugged into them.

              My 98 only needs the clip. I thought up to 02 took the clip also.

                OBD-1 takes paper clip and OBD-2 takes the tech2 if it wasnt programmed from the factory.

                  sorry to dig up an old thread, but I wanted to clarify for anyone searching for instructions on programming remotes that the above information is NOT correct. '00+ requires going to the dealership, '99 and earlier can be programmed using a paperclip.

                      true that jon. that was the only reason I had mine sent to the dealership, they even stole my radar detector but since I was deployed for 4 months after the fact I couldnt proove it.
