• throttle body?

whenever i let off the gas, with my car still in gear, or at constant speeds at less than 1/2 throttle, i get this weird rattle/buzz that seems to come from the left side of the engine bay. i know the throttle body is more along the centerline, but what else would make that noise?

Sounds like the Cat heat shield..... get under the car when it's cool, and grab the heat shield and see if it moves..... if it does, just take it to an exhaust shop unless you know how to break welds without breaking other crap.

The heat shields arent welded, they are riveted to the underside of the car.

Depends on if it's a factory cat, or a shop cat...... but eh...... good point.

im not understanding what your problem with your tranny is vinny. i have 27000 miles on mine and i beat the living shit out of it. (rebuilt once due to syncro failure) and i dont get a damn pep out of it.

Pressures and stresses of all kinds thermal and mechanical loading across the board escalate to extreme levels. A Chevrolet 5.7-liter LS1 V8 with this much specific power (horsepower per cubic inch) would be making 2,137 hp

That's more then likly the reverse gear cog locking into the the other gears....if you are talking about the"whine" in the reverse, then that is caused by the staight cut teeth on the reaverse gears.... but how the hell would you know Elvis....open downpipe> whimpy tranny noises.

Let me know if that's the problem or not, because a lot of times, it is.... but, the problem they are stating is becoming more common.
