  • Check engine light

I recently went to a mechanic and he told me the reason my car was overheating was because of the coolant temp. sensor. there was no indecation of an service engine soon light. so i replaced the sensor and then the next day the light came on. I checked it at auto zone and it read that the coolannt temperature sensor was putting out at a low voltage. what could be the problem. I was told mabye a bad/caraoded connector wire. any info please?????????

Make sure you got a sensor with a metal tip ( looks gold). And get a new connector. AFAIK you cna only get it from the dealer. They are about 40 dollars.
