  • heater...

    hi im new to this site, i bought my 95 sl2 in march and i have been on saturnfans but i just found this site today and it seems like a pretty cool site.

    neways my saturn needs some work and one thing is the heater removed. when i got it the peice that goes under the uper engine mount and makes a "T" junction with the radiator resivor had been removied along with the windsheild wiper fluid box so that the resivor could be connected to the fitted tubeing for the radiator (i would show u some pics but i dont have a digital cam anymore) neways i want to just remove anything at all that has to do with the heater., if anyone can tell me what can and cant be removed that would be great! and so would any pictures of the heater compontes or exploded veiws, thanks alot

    Firstly, welcome to the sphere!! This is the underground for Saturn people lol.

    Okay you are losing me on what you are trying to do?? The heater, as in the heat for your car, comes from the heater core that is located underneath you dashboard, just above the tunnel. Radiator fluid transfers through it and the heat from it is used to heat the vehicle inside.

    Is that what you are talkin about??? Removing that really won't do anything for you but it is easy enough to bypass.

    Maybe I am just not reading what you said right.

        I don't know bro, I live in Daytona beach and I use mine for sure in the winter here, especially to clear the windshield in the mornings with all the dampness.

        Anyways, you can bypass it easy enough but I cannot see it in my head right now where the lines go to lol, toooooo much beer tonight.

        Maybe somebody else can think of it.

                All you gotta do is click on your garage car under your screename to get to the pics.

                Hey, for 350, you are not doin bad.

                I see the screwdriver, that sucks for sure. I need to look at a car to get the jist of it, I just can't get it in my head (sorry) but I will look at one tomorrow. Do you have a "u-pull-it" type of junkyard anywhere near you?? If so, you can replace that fender, get some DOHC alloys back on that car for cheap and get the parts you need to fix her right.

                There is a great one here, but Winterhaven is a bit of a hike.

                  yeah well the day after i got it it stoped starting, it ended up that it was the way the guy had the cooling fan hooked up was shorting out the ignition switch, but including the cost of the car and everything ive done to it so far, which is alot, ive put less than 750 in it.

                  and yeah theres on in aurdurndale thats the closest one to me and it has 5 saturns all 1st gen but they dont have any my color, also they want 125 for a set of the teardrop rims, but that sounds a little high to me. Theres one in lakeland that suposed to be really good and have alot of saturns, but i just dont have any money right now to go over and get the stuff i need. Also i have to replace that metal bracket that the bottom of the fender and the top of bumper attach at cuz its all bent to hell from when the guy put his foot thru it, i tried to straighten it but now its all like ~~~~~ lol

                    Man, 125 for a set of alloys from the yard, thats NUTS!! They have sales here on rims from the yard for 7 bucks each and 15 normally.

                    Hey man, if you are having fundage issues (are'nt we all lol) you might want to give some consideration to this thread;

                    Read through the whole thing as it's been rescheduled. We have to do some labor for the guy pulling what he needs, but then we have access to some cars and can pull what we need for free. Something to think about.
