  • ses lite & temp guage

i recently have noticed two things my car does that is abnormal. one the temp guage is sittting about 1/8th higher then normal. when going to work it usually only reaches the 1/4 mark. but now it sits in between the 1/4 and 1/2 mark. and it take longer for the engine to cool. could this be the coolant needing to be changed or a sensor?

also the ses lite comes on intermitenly. usually when driving at the same speed. with no change in change in rpms. if im accelerating or decelerating it goes off till the car has a steady rpm position and speed. any pointers or idaes?

well for one, the car should normally be between 1/4-1/2. it sounds like the ects is bad and possibly low on coolant or thermostat is bad.

now the ses light could pertain to this issue, but hopefully it will stay on once so you can check it

i know the weather is getting warmer, but i have been employed at the same company for over a year know. last summer i worked the evening shifts where i would hit rush hour traffic and the guage never sat above the 1/4 mark. no even on open high way it sits in between 1/4 and 1/2. i was figuring it might be the thermostat but wouldn't the light be stay on if it catches the problem. or at least leave a code it the memory. also the coolant is a very dark green color.
