Also, what are your egt's like at idle. With an egt gauge, you could get another spectrum of data to tune with.
There hits a point with adding advance where it starts to backfire. And since its idling so low I usually get a kickback and stall. I hate hearing that kickback and cyl releive resonate throught the AEM...I always feel like its gonna break something.

And I need to get my EGT working. I built the DIY EGT circuit into the proto area but it requires +12v and all thats in the proto area is +5v. I need to find a decent regulated +12v on the MS board I can tap into and get that displayed. All the other wiring is done and the probe mounted 3" from the head on the #4 runner.

    Vacuum pump for agressive cams

O.k....without going into a huge story on my car (its all posted on TSN, which is down right now) I have a 12:1 N/A engine with very agressive cams being run by a MegaSquirt with MSnS-e doing both fuel and spark.. Right now it idles around 500 - 600 PRM, does fine without a load but runs like crap under load. Also overlap on the cams is so high that its pretty much impossible to tune under 2k as a lot of fresh air get through to the exhust and the wide band picks that up as a lean condition when in actuality its just right.

So I was talking with some V8 power guys who's judgement I trust about my issues and explained everything going on. A couple suggested a vacuum pump for the intake manifold, it would pull vacuum and elleviate some of my lopy idle issues and missing/bogging issues under load. I'm talking to SDA about a set of less agressive cams but that would be in addition to the current setup (I want a sporty daily driver, not just a drag car) so I'm persuinfg all avenues. Anyone ever try one of these? Work out, didnt work? Any experiences?

    -Allan.
