  • Mystery Plug

I took out my heater controls yesterday and under that panel is a plug that goes nowhere... it's right next to the ciggarette lighter thinga-ma-jiggy... it's blue and has 5 pins...

just wondering if anyone knew what it might be for?

I have no power options in my car, so as I'm typing this i'm thinking it might be for the power windows?

    I dunno

It's for the fog light/traction control switch. I dont have my FSM in front of me. But I think those wires go nowhere if you don't have ABS or fog lights.

thanks man... more useless wires, yay!

kinda like those long flat blocks under the seats with about 14 black wires going to them that don't connect to shit

Well...I have a question about wires that dont go anywhere either I might as well ask here instead of adding another post. My wifes 04 Vue had the standard CD player. I bought here a MP3 player from a 05 Vue. When I took out the old radio I found another connector with liek 6 or 7 wires that was tapped to a bundle and not plugged into anything but it did fit the back of the new radio in a harness that the old didnt have. Was this for the extra speakers/sub option? I'm figuring it is...I hooked it up and it of course doesn't do anything but I'm wondering if the sub wires were actually run to the back so I could put that option in without running new wires. HAvn't pulled panels in the back to check yet.

Bought a 2001 Saturn SC2 new, sold it in 2008, bought it back in 2017. I don't know why.

could be a cd changer option or navigation that never was? you never know. they may use the same harness for other gm cars that may have navigation. I bet the best answers would be from the dealer. or a wiring software like alldat.

She wants a sub, she doesn't want a lot...just a little extra umph, and if I can get away with just buying her the sub part I'll do it instead of wiring up one myself. Her Vue is pretty stock and I want to keep it that way.
