no i don't mind i thought about putting that in here but didnt think it mattered they were severely rusted which i don't understand cause its a 2004 car (stupid on my part i didnt see the rust i just noticed it was hard to stop and my and the pedal wasn't returning after being pushed to the floor

the reason i didnt get to look at them is because my fiance took the car to the dealer we bought it from and this is what THEY told her was wrong and all this needed replaced they were gonna do the work on them and told her it isn't covered on warranty and will cost her 235.00 she told them no and just purchased the parts and told them i would put them on......lol little did she know i got no clue how to swap all that stuff out...did i get stiffed? pretty sure but hey it seems like some good parts they gave us so i was gonna put it on anyways

mine's an 04, probably around the same miles, though I don't have the road salt you guys get up there, but mine are absolutely fine. that does possibly sound like calipers though.

honestly, without looking right at my car, I'm at a loss for instructions for you. a few of the guys here who are techs problaby would have a better idea off the top of their head.

where are you at in Ohio? there are some of our guys up there who I would think would be able to lend a hand.

dude Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't it normal for calipers to rust a little bit? Since you have new ones cover them with a clearcoat of High temp paint or powdercoat them it'll make them look real good!

that sounds like what i should do i have 30 days to return those parts...i looked at the calibers and whole brake set up it is not that bad im gonna take it to saturn of middleburg up here and see what they say. if it's ok, then imma go ahead and just paint them but will still need to take them off or can they be painted left on?

edit.....or was you talkin about painting the brand new one's not the old ones? im in akron/barberton area

I meant either ones. you will have to remove them to powdercoat and you "should" remove to paint and there is companies that sell kits where you can brush the paint on while its on the vehicle but your gonna want to scrub them good which is easier off the car

find out of you even need the things, it might be a master cylinder issueor something along those lines. get the other dealer to look at it, and if you don't need it bring'em back, dont' bother with them.

up here they use TONS of salt its awful
did you get the caliper brackets also
                    if you didnt
you remove the two bolts on the caliper pins after the hose is removed and dats it
if you got the bracket theres two bigger bolts probably 15 mm heads and 10mm thread that thread into the bracket and after theyre removed w/ the hose it will fall rite on the floor
unless its really rusty and the bolts just snap and then the bracket is rusted into the knuckle
then you may need some heat
                    im sure someone has pics

Jst returned from the dealer they looked at them and told me i don't need anything anytime soon, they also recommended if i was still skeptical about them to do what dream36 said and just paint them or powder coat them I guess just to make them look better (will that actually help with salt and what not)

Yes. think of it this way, not powder coated or painted= bare mettle exposed to the ellements.

powder coated or painted= protection pluss looks.

dont like the looks try some sort of clear coat?

Pressures and stresses of all kinds thermal and mechanical loading across the board escalate to extreme levels. Yeah I would go with the clear coat as well, most High Temp paints are a little agressive and bright. Unless you want to stand out
