how hard is it to use them, and once the new springs are on, do any mods need to me made, except for an alignment

    Re: spring compressors

not hard at all... you clamp em on, tighten em down and pop the top off the strut.... (thats the hardest part, the big ass bolt at the top of the strut)

go to AutoZone and "borrow" theirs (they ask for like $50 to hold until you return it, then give you your money back)

Ask for McPherson(sp?) spring compressor tool

and no other mods need to be made

well i didnt even use a spring compressor. first time i had my uncle press down on the strut mount while i removed the bolt and came off easy. then second time, i loosend the strut bolt from the mount and lowered the pressure off the strut till it came out.

but as long as you dont go more then 2" some go 2.5" (not talking about the ions) then alignment should be able to be brought back. so you dont need anything else

u dont need the spring compressor. just get an air gun, and undrill the top lug. it works fine.

you do need a spring compressor, at least to take your stockers off.

                  yep sounds like it

don't screw around with stuff under pressure like that, do it the right way with a compressor.

I agree... last thing you need is the top of the strut (strut bearing?) coming at high speed towards your otherwise fragile face

look at it this way... FREE... with spring compressor

                        or

look to spend between $300 and $600 at a shop...

I went with the free option... just USE THE TOOL

the Spring Compressor is for your safety and keeps the shit from breaking your mug... we were talking to the others up above that said they didn't need it... which I dont see how

u dont look at it. point it away from you. ive done it plenty of times... works fine without any problems. but still, a compressor usually only 'costs' a refundable payment to an auto shop.

real simple. once you see a set, you'll know what i mean. you should probably trim the bump-stop a little, too...

So....with a spring compressor it'd be pretty easy to do a full spring swap by myself? Or maybe with blueiondubv helping me? Interesting....need to get springs here soon, and that would be sweet to do it myself.
