Tranny question

Ok so i will be taking my tranny and engine into the shop tomorrow for the swap. Now as I was cleaning the tranny today. I noticed that the lil triangle peice on the outside that changes the gears is broken.

So my question can I just use the one from the SOHC tranny and swap it over?

i know my moms old cavy they were able to when she a had a new transmission put in...

did i i was not aware of which section i was in
so the junkyard broke it?
that shouldnt be a problem if its off the car
those trannys come apart in a relativly short period of time and if you have a good tube of silicone you dont need any gaskets
[and personally ive experianced less leaks w/ silicone]

i got jipped up here last year 400 for a [80k tranny]
i think it was over 180k
it threw the pin after 10k
mine had 206k
